Anthony's Chrome book Reflection

1. How has having a Netbook connected to the internet helped your learning this year?

Connecting to the internet on my chrome book is a big help because I was struggling in my math and I needed a way to get back on track so I typed in on google easy ways to learn math and it took me to this website that showed me new strategies in simple math questions.  

2. Can you tell us about something you have discovered and learnt by yourself this year (with help of the internet)?

When the couch in our class room ripped me and my friend Carlos had to mend it with thread and a needle. But the only thing was that I couldn't sow, so I looked on youtube on how to sow and it came up with a lady giving me a sowing lesson and that was really helpful.

3. What special thing have you learnt from your teacher this year?

I learnt how to think outside the box in creative opportunities and to come up with different ideas to stand out and not to be a normal brown cow but to be a purple cow.

4. what significant thing have you learnt all by your self this year - maybe online?

I learnt how to use I movie on our I macs (I movie is an application that is already downloaded on any mac software). 

5. What have you learnt from you friend this year?

What I learnt from my friend was 3 new shortcuts that are really helpful on I macs. The 3 shortcuts are command Z (witch is undo), command C (witch is copy) and command V (witch is paste).

6. What thing have you learnt from people outside your class room?

I learnt how to play proper handball rules so now I can play handball with my friends.

7. How have you grown your key competencies through using digital tools this year?

I learnt how to import a video from a  memory card to I movie and to make a stop motion movie using I can animate (I can animate is an app for any apple or android device's. you can make stop motion videos and stuff like that).

   

   

 

Action world

On Friday the 6th of December the year 7's at Pt England school went to action world. Action world is place in Henderson Auckland were you can experience different activity's like Tight-rope, Jousting, Rock climbing, Trampoline, Crazy-ladder and Jungle swings. And the best part about it is that you land on safe inflatable air mats.

The most fun activity for me was everything!!! I liked everything because all of the stuff to do there gave me a rush of adrenalin. But the activity I didn't master was the crazy ladder because it kept tipping over and over so that was the I didn't master.

I recommend for you to go to Action world because it is a great place fr a party or just to have fun.

Nelson Mandela Tribute

Introduction: On the 6th of December 2013 Mandela past away. It was a very sad day for all of us because he cared for others and was a very compassionate person. And fought for what he believed in witch made him our hero.

Were it began: It all started on July 18th 1918 in south Africa were Mandela was born. Mandela has changed the world and made it a better place for people around the world.

Apartheid: In 1962 Nelson was arrested and was imprisoned for 27 years for believing that all the people can be together in peace.

Mandela's release: In 1994 Mandela was released from prison and opened negotiations with  president F.W. de Klerk to abolish apartheid and talk in witch led to ANC to victory. As south Africa's first black president.

Conclusion: Mandela was a really good man and really wise he his the reason that people can be united.

Future Aspirations

On Thursday the 14th of November the seniors of pt England school had some special people in to talk to us about how they had a dream and how it came true and if you have a dream chase it.

We had 4 speakers and they were all inspiring.

But the most inspiring person for me was Tristan Pang because he was only 12 years old and he was already going to university in maths and science and he was the most brainy person I have ever met.

My future Aspiration is to become a pro bmx rider and make it to the X games.

The day of the devil (narrative)

It was Thursday the 12th and 6 year old Jacob and his mum Lucy had moved into a new house. But little that they knew the house they had just moved into was possessed with demonic forces.

They had just got settled in and were fast asleep. Just then a spine chilling  breeze filled the air and Jacob woke up with a fright and couldn't get back to sleep. Suddenly a gust of blood curdling wind whipped the blankets of Jacob and a loud high pitch sound screamed in his face.

It’s Friday the 13th and Jacob had told his mum what happened to him last night but she told him it must of been a dream Jacob refused and said it really happened to him but still his mum didn't believe him.

Later that night Jacob had a plan to record the whole night on an old super 8 camera and prove to his mum that it was real. So in the corner of his room he had a video camera taping every second of the night.

As Jacob was lying there in his bed the door then blood started to drip down from the ceiling with grim. Jacob started to panic then whoosh Jacob was gone in a flash. And from that day Jacob and the tape were never to be seen again.

Magic club Narrative

It all started when Mr Boggins (an old wizard) finds out that he will pass on in the next full moon so he decides he will open a magic school so he can pass on his magic.

Its a few days into this magic school and Mr Boggins has already got 2 students.

Emma (a girl who is new to magic) and Mike (a young sorcerer). It was half way through the lesson and they already mastered 6 new spells.

But as they were going through the next spell which is a spell that can make animals at will. Mike had just made a bird but Emma couldn't do the spell she tried and tried and on her last go she made a big mistake she cast a 10 foot evil man eating crocodile.

When Mr Boggins saw this he ran out the door never to return again and it was only up to Emma & Mike to slay the beast. Mike cast a sleep spell on the croc but it didn't work and swallowed Emma whole not even bothered to chomp.

Mike tried everything he learnt on the beast but couldn't hurt it.

Just then a burst of light screeched out of the croc. And out of the side of its belly was a big cut and out came Emma. After what happened with the croc Emma & Mike became wizards and lived happily ever after.

This is my storybord for my new movie.

Hot chip vending machines

Hot chips for everyone

In Belgium a company has made the perfect HOT CHIP vending machine.

Now everyone has put their money into a machine to get a yummy snack to munch on but have you ever got hot chips from one?

Machines like this already exist but this one is different this one fries the chips in beef fat for a more irresistible taste.

The new product makes them in 90 seconds and dishes them to you also for a bonus you get a fork and tomato or Mayo sauce.

The first machine appeared outside a supermarket in Belgium.

Life as a 12 year old boy in Auckland and Syria

As I woke up from my comfortable bed the aroma of warm bacon filled the room. I slowly lifted my body out of my bed and lightly strolled down the hallway to the kitchen where my mum had made fresh crispy bacon and a warm chocolate Milo. “Ahhhh… this is the life” I said to myself.

I had just woken up to the sound of piercing screams and gunshots. I looked outside and gloom filled the air, blood was spread everywhere, bombs were going off every minute and everything was grim. I thought to myself... “would I live another day?”.

I had arrived at school and I was excited to learn and have fun. We started the day with the roll then we went to our literacy groups. As eating time came the cafeteria was giving out free food “It was really nice and filling”. The end of school had come around and I was exhausted.

When I came back inside my Mum was weeping in the corner holding my 2 year old brother in her lap and I asked her “what's the matter Mum?” She said “your brothers really sick and is in pain”. I felt sad and I said “I will fix this’’ so I want to my job. I worked at the mines and I only get $.0.50c an hour so I would have to work double.

I came home and afternoon tea was waiting for me on the table it was chocolate milk and cookies “YUM”. When I finished I went to the lounge to play my Ps4 I played games till the sun went down and the stars come out It was the best day ever.

our new guinea pigs

As I got home from school my mum said to me that we were getting guinea pigs was so happy I couldn't believe it . It came around to Saturday and it was time to pick up the guinea pigs. When I first laid my eyes on the guinea pigs they were so cute and cuddly.

When we got them we also got two free hutches a Bottle two combs and brushes and little leashes to give them walks around the yard. they are so cool to play with and are good pets to have so I recommend you get some.                               and this is Cauliflower

Pt England Fun Run / Mud Run

On the 22 of August Pt England School had a Fun Run. Our school Fun Run was supported by Adidas. And we had to get sponsored by our Whanau (Family) in order to get some cool prizes even if you raise over $10.00.

It started with the 5 year old boys then the 5 year old girls it went in that patten all the way up to the Yr 8 boys. When it was time for the Yr 7 boys (thats me) the Tension was high.

When the siren went I ran for my life. I started to fall back but that wasn't stoping me I was like a machine I was jumping puddles like thunder hurdling through mud like an alligator.

It was the last stand me and the mud filled track just as I was to the finish line my friend was sliding in puddles I quickly ran to the puddle he was sliding in and I didn't care about winning I just wanted to slide.

Anthony Love Movie Making Reflection

this is my reflection about the Love movie Making experience

Yellow Hat - The things I enjoyed I enjoyed making the movie, having fun and staying in character.

Black Hat - Which things didn’t I like. I didn't like dressing up as the girl in the movie and the Camara shaking.

Green Hat - What was something interesting about this week. The thing that was interesting about the week was making a film with no camera man and having different Bruno Mars songs.

White Hat - What did I learn.I learned when you film with an ipad always film on its side and the flash back idea.

Blue Hat - What can I do better next time. I could film in an area with no one talking and make some of the shots shorter.

  1980’s Events

In 1980’s, the Americans boycotted (Protest ) the Moscow Olympics because of what happen in December 27th 1979. In 1979, Russia invaded Afghanistan. They invaded because they wanted more land and power.

Music in 2013

Over the last 2 decades of years, music has change a lot from the 1970’s of disco and the 1980’s of the jackson 5. Since then the music today has got its own style to it. Have you noticed that every song we listen to today either have Rap, Pop, R&B, Hip Hop or Techno in it.

We even have new styles like Dubstep, (It is an electronic song with lots of bass and beats) .

The three little hobbits (the twist of the three little pigs).

Three Little hobbits-Three Little Pigs

Characters:

Hobbit Foi- Fat/Cocky-Bad-Hut made out of steak.

Hobbit Fa- Mental-Bad-Wooden Hut.

Hobbit Tee- Humble-Good-Girly Hut.

Old Man with Asthma-Good - He’s going to try & blow Tee’s hut using his inhaler.   

                                                                                                                                                   

Once upon a time, there lived Three Little Hobbits. Their names were Fa and Tee and they had a older brother called Foi living in an asylum. Fa and Tee lived with their mum in an old cottage in the forest. One day the two little hobbits mum decided that they were now too old to live with her. So they decided to go their separate ways and build their own houses.

The oldest hobbit (Fa) went to Pak n Save and bought a ton of steak and then headed into the maybury bush. He started to build his house out of meat. He thought that he might be able to attract animals to his house so that he could trap them for food.

Meanwhile the oldest hobbit (Foi) was running from an asylum to cut down trees to make his hut out of wood. Half way through the job he was about to place a piece of bark onto his roof & accidently slid the bark across his hand and got a really deep splinter & had a mental breakdown. Since Foi is in deep depression he stops building his house and leaves from the forest.

When Tee gets into the forest to find wood to make a fire, Tee comes across Foi’s house. Tee saw that Foi’s house is unfinished and feels bad, he then continues to finish building Foi’s house. When he finishes building the house he decides to stay there.

As Tee wakes up from a deep sleep he heard foot steps walking through the forest when he suddenly comes across an old man with asthma. He is so jealous that the house is beautiful that he decides to blow it down. The old man tries his best to blow the house down but fails because he has asthma, so he uses his inhaler. The old man blows the house down and leaves the scene in fear of getting caught. He then goes back to the retirement village and on the way loses his breath, he reaches for his inhaler and presses the pump button. The pump button releases no air which means that the asthma pump is now finished, he used all the air in the inhaler when he blew down the house. “Ahhh cough cough cough help help helpppp” yells the old man, he then falls to the ground and shakes and eventually dies.

My spoken word

Today a teacher (Joshua Iosefo) came in told us about spoken word . He first drew a scribble on the whiteboard and said come up with something to tell the world about the picture I came up with this.

A homeless dog with one missing leg trying to get out of a cage #Animal cruelty.

"What has the world come to now house pets turned into rugs just so we can make ourselves and our houses look good. But what do the dogs feel what if you were an innocent dog or pet what would you do nothing then why would you hurt or injure a pet just so you can get an necessity that is not worth it so just ask yourself would you rather have a mat or coat or a beautiful creature of this earth that brings joy not a lifeless rag".

Yellow Hat - The things I enjoyed

I enjoyed the funny ideas our group made up.

I also enjoyed watching the movie.

Black Hat - Which things didn’t I like.

The things I didn’t like is when we had to re do senes.

Another thing I didn’t like was when sometimes argued with each other.

Green Hat - What was something interesting about this week.

The thing that was interesting about this week was when we had to was editing.

Another thing that was interesting was doing the voice over.

I learnt how to put music on I movie.

One other thing I learnt was editing properly.

Raihan,Anthony and Howard Prospective Student Narrative

There he was climbing a triturus mountain to get to the mystical dojo of doom. Chuckie Chan was determined to find his inner chi and get his medal of achievements in kung fu at this prestigious school of martial arts.

When he reached the dojo of doom he rang the doorbell a sensei came out and pointed to the right hand side of him. Chuckie Chan was confused with what the sensei did and started to meditate all day and night to show the sensei that he was eager to get into this school.

The next day the door opened and Chuckie Chan awakened but the sensei still pointed to the right hand side. Chuckie Chan got furious at the sensei and threatened to use kung fu punches and kicks at him but then the sensei pointed again.

Chuckie Chan looked on the side of the dojo wall and a sign hung on a nail and said PLEASE USE THE SIDE DOOR TO GET IN!! Chuckie Chan got embarrassed and walked to the side door relieved.

Anthony SSW-week 7

It was a cold,dark,gloomy night. I stumbled upon an abandoned hut deep in the heart of the forest. I was just about to enter the hut when suddenly I heard reggae music coming from the hut. But  when I entered nothing was there except reggae instruments with no one playing them.

I thought my mind was playing tricks on me but I was wrong. I started to turn around and run back home but then I heard someone shout COME BACK COME BACK!!! I thought it sounded familiar so I ran back to the hut.

but when I had got there no one was to be seen. Then the music started playing again and the drumsticks were playing the beat by themselves same as the guitar and bass.

The next day I went home and put up fliers all over the town saying: come to the national forest at 8:30 pm for a reggae concert in the abandoned hut the theme is spooky.

When I got there everyone in the town were wearing spooky outfits and dancing to the mysterious reggae ghost band. And from that day on I held concerts every weekend for the town.

But no one ever knew who was playing the reggae music.

Learning to play League

In room 19 for sports we are learning to play League. League is a game were you require speed, strength and agility.

the first time we went for a practise  it was really fun and we learnt a couple of skills that were pretty cool. The next week we went we learnt to do a grubber kick and a drop kick. A grubber kick is when the ball is flipt to the ground off the middle part of your foot and a drop kick is when the ball is simply haled  in the air and slightly drop and your foot is kickt to do a drop kick.

League is a really fun game to play and you can never stop learning.

The cook off

It was a glorious day at the room 19 cooking competition grand finals and the winner will win $1000,000. Anthony was cooking a Thai green curry and he so nervous. All of his effort in this competition comes down to this dish. One mistake could crush his dream and send him home.

As he got his ingredients the tension was so high and he could barely walk back to his station but when the judges said those four words (Your time starts now) he then really got his head in the game.

when he was chopping his vegetables he had forgot to get salt and salt is the key ingredient he tried to ask people around him for salt but no one had any they were all cooking desserts.

When Anthony heard the judges say 10 minutes he quickly put the last spices and vegetables in pot and sweated with nervousness. “times up step away from your station” said Miss Tito (the judge).

When Anthony was called to the judges to taste his saltless curry they looked at him with a smile and said “That was the best Thai green curry I have ever tasted”. Anthony look so surprised and was proud of what he did.

When the judges called everybody forward he felt he could win this. Miss Tito opened the envelop and said the person who I call will win the $1000,000. And the winner is...

ANTHONY!. as he went home that night he felt over the moon and rich.
